Company Description

The Insurance Institute is the number one provider of insurance qualifications, training and continuing professional development (CPD) in Ireland. In partnership with IT Sligo, the LIA and Generation Apprenticeship, we deliver the three-year honours degree-level Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship.

Ours was the first honours degree-level apprenticeship to launch following the 2014 announcement by the government to expand apprenticeships into new industries. Our apprentices learn the skills, knowledge and behaviours necessary for a successful career in insurance and beyond, as well as earning a salary as they study.

We are now on our third intake of apprentices with the first cohort in their final year and mid-way through completing their Capstone projects. They are CIP qualified (the benchmark qualification for insurance professionals) and on their way to obtaining a level 8 BA (Hons) in Insurance Practice.

A key benefit of programme participation for apprentices is earning a salary (guide of €25k annual), along with a fully-funded degree. The benefit to employers is committed, eager-to-learn staff that can be developed, securing long-term talent for their business and the industry as a whole. Equally, insurance education which employers typically pay for on behalf of staff is funded.
