JJ Rhatigan |
Company Description
JJ Rhatigan & Company is one of Ireland's leading building contractors. Founded in 1952 by John J Rhatigan, the company has offices in Galway, Dublin, Cork, Sligo and London and employees over 530 people. In 2018 the company achieved a turnover of €315 million reflecting a growth of over 25% on the previous year and is on track for similar growth in 2019. JJ Rhatigan is committed to sustainable growth while ensuring speed and quality with an excellence beyond our clients' expectations.
JJ Rhatigan's Five Pillars of Success set us apart for our competitors. Our commitment to construction excellence, capacity to deliver and culture of integrity didn't come about overnight; they are the result of hard work and intuitive processes. Our clients keep coming back to us because they recognise that we set standards through dedication to these five pillars: Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental, Programme, Budget, Collaborative Relationships.
An early adopter of BIM Level 2, JJ Rhatigan was one of the first BSI BIM Certified Tier 1 Lead Contractors in Ireland. The BSI BIM level 2 certification is highly sought after and verifies that our BIM management systems are recognised internationally. All of our current projects are being delivered using our certified BIM processes at the highest level in the construction industry and include commercial, pharmaceutical, residential, education, hotel, civic & heritage and healthcare projects.
As a main contractor we do not employ any direct trades and subsequently we do not have our own apprenticeship programme. However, we engage on a day-to-day basis with subcontractors that support apprenticeships and we value their commitment. Although we do not directly employ tradesmen, and subsequently apprentices, we engage daily with members of our supply chain who do run apprenticeship programmes.
As part of our selection process when appointing trade contractors, we tend to look more favourably on those providing training and apprenticeship programmes.
These preferred trade contractors find our projects safe and supportive environments for their apprentices to experience construction industry best practice, innovative methods of construction, large-scale building solutions with industry leading skills and technologies.
We promote a working environment of respect and fairness and encourage collaboration and mentoring among our direct employees and those of our trusted subcontractors and their apprentices. Apprentices on our sites gain first-hand insight into how a Tier 1 contractor operates and learn how they can launch their careers in the construction industry.
