Irish Defence Forces |
Company Description
The Irish Defence Forces is the military of Ireland. We encompass the Army, the Naval Service, the Air Corps and the Reserve Defence Forces.
Defence Forces personnel lead a 'Life less Ordinary'. No two days are the same in the lives of our personnel. All aspects of military life are varied and for each member of the force each day may bring a new challenge.
The Defence Forces looks to enlist Trainee Military Aircraft Technicians. The successful applicants will serve a four (4) year apprenticeship program and will become Aircraft Technicians. Technicians provide the maintenance and servicing of Air Corps aircraft, their engines, systems, equipment and weapons. The Air Corps is looking for young, enthusiastic, and technically minded individuals who are looking for the opportunity not just to learn a new trade but also practice it in challenging situations. Trainee Technicians undergo their academic training at the Technical Training School, located in Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel, Co. Dublin, the home of the Air Corps.
The Defence Forces also offers our serving personnel the opportunity to apply for various trainee technician schemes (TTS). We offer trades such as, mechanics, plumbers, electricians, chefs, carpenters and many more. The Defence Forces also offers specific military apprenticeships such as, armorers and military communications and IT systems technicians.
The Irish Defence Forces are looking for motivated, physically fit, team orientated individuals. The organisation gives individuals the opportunity to work in their chosen trade in a unique environment. Aircraft technicians will be afforded the opportunity to work on military aircraft that can only be found in the Irish Air Corps. Those who successfully complete trainee technicians schemes will get to deploy on overseas peacekeeping missions and be able to work in the trade they have completed. All trades are recognised by the various external agencies responsible for oversight of trades in Ireland.
